Feature Wedding: Mary and Justin: Baltimore Makeup and Hair

Mary and Justin had a beautiful and intimate wedding this past February.  According to Mary, “Baltimore is where we feel at home so we knew we wanted everything to be in the heart of the city with the people we love most.  Our theme was less is more and it really was!   When we planned our wedding for February we braced ourselves for awful weather.  We couldn’t have dreamed of a better day…70 degrees and blue skies.   It was a dream!”

As a Baltimore girl myself, I can’t help but smile when I see all of the beautiful portraits of the bride and groom in front of the Baltimore skyline.  The Rusty Scupper is such an ideal location for a small intimate wedding reception (great idea)!  Congratulations you two, I am so glad that your Wedding day was a dream come true!

Fashion Friday: Urban Chic Spring Fashion Shoot: Amie Decker Beauty

Even though we are hooked on weddings, our love for fashion is undeniable.  When we get to do fashions shoots it is a dream come true (especially when we get to work with the girls from Urban Chic).  Check out the gorgeous images from the day and don’t forget to leave a comment mentioning your favorite:)

It was so perfect that we were able to use the vintage piano in the photos.  And I WANT this dress!

It was so fun to do all of the hair and makeup changes for each outfit change.  Brows and top-knots are so “in” right now and this outfit was the perfect opportunity to showcase them.  Kelley styled this awesome top-knot and I thickened the models brows (so Brook Shields :))

Then we headed outside.  The weather was amazing and the cherry blossoms were in bloom!  So perfect!

I think this is my favorite shot of the day!  What do you think?

Feature Wedding: Alison and Rob: Style Me Pretty

Welcome to a scene from the Great Gatsby (At least how I imagine it in my mind:)).  Alison and Rob’s wedding was published on Style Me Pretty this week where they stated “Elegance never goes out of style”.  It is so true!  Their elegant and classic affair would be considered a dream wedding in any decade.  I was so honored to be among the list of talented and wonderfully kind vendors that Alison and Rob selected.  If the couple looks familiar you might have seen them on my blog when I posted their engagement pictures.  I have been itching to share these wedding photos and now I can finally reveal them:)  Enjoy!

Feature Wedding: Summer and Nelson: Young love

The happy couple met while in kindergarten. They would get into trouble for kissing during nap time. They were separated in first grade and were reunited through facebook a few years ago.  This story was especially near and dear to my heart because some on you may know that my husband and I also met in Kindergarten (read story here)!

I asked Summer what her inspiration was for her wedding…

“My inspiration was nature, I wanted everything to be very natural and pure looking, which is why I kept everything white, green and brown.”

Summer also wanted her hair and makeup to go along with her theme of natural and pure looking.  We chose a very natural and romantic fresh faced look for her.  She looked sun-kissed with flawless skin!

I love the quote that the couple used on their Save the Date is…”We used to imagine out future … now we get to live it.”

DC Engagement session: Amie Decker Beauty: Cherry Blossom Beauty

We have been doing a lot of hair and makeup recently for engagement photos now that we are in the Spring!  There were many early call times the week that the Cherry blossoms were in bloom, including this shoot by Procopio Photography of Deborah and Jason.  Sarah showed up before sunrise to do Deborah’s hair and makeup but these photos make it all worth it (right Sarah?:)).

Cicely from Procopio photography is a strong supporter for professional styling for photo shoots (love that).  She even asked me to contribute to an article she wrote for The DC Ladies blog on why everyone should hire professional stylists for their photo shoots.  Check it out here.
